BOSTON, June 26, 2018 – Now in its fifth year, the Women in Agribusiness Demeter Award of Excellence has been bestowed upon some of the most innovative, action-oriented movers and shakers in the agribusiness sector. This year, the scope of the award has been broadened, and nominations are now being accepted (self-nominating is okay too!) for women across the agribusiness value chain who have demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the sector.
"We’ve modified the award criteria to be more inclusive and representative of the members of our Women in Agribusiness (WIA) community, and the entire value chain in general,” said Joy O’Shaughnessy, managing director of Women in Agribusiness at HighQuest Group. “We’re looking for the best and the brightest, those with ideas that have changed businesses, motivated colleagues or removed barriers to success. We are looking for women who have achieved excellence in their field or demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the agribusiness industry.”
Criteria for nomination includes:Woman with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the ag and/or food industryWoman who is a positive example to other women in the industryWoman who breaks down barriers and serves as a resource for othersWoman who consistently exemplifies professionalism.
The recipient of this award, which is so named after Demeter, the goddess of the harvest from ancient Greek mythology, will receive her award on stage at the 2018 Women in Agribusiness Summit in Denver, September 24-26 at the Hilton Denver City Center. The award recipient will be notified prior to being recognized at the event.
Entry form and guidelines for submissions are available on the Women in Agribusinesswebsite. There is no limit to the number of entries, and self-nominations will be accepted as well.
